The Providence Journal reports that Rhode Island Governor David Carcieri has plans to use his state’s share of $10 billion in Edujobs funding to fill budget holes in other areas; this move does not sit well with Education chief (and EEP board member) Deborah Gist, who argued that the money should be used “for its intended purpose,” which is to prevent teacher layoffs.
